One of the most important aspects of any dance record is how it breathes, which isn’t always easy to achieve as a producer. Hannes breaks down his unique techniques and insider tips that he has gathered over years of working with some of the hottest producers in the industry for a masterclass that will give you an inside look into how he approaches his craft. This masterclass will take place at the 343 Labs studios in NYC and can be attended live or attended remotely via livestream. Please note that the stream will not be recorded, so you must attend live to watch the masterclass.

There are a lot of myths about dynamic processing, and most tutorials cover this topic based on more conventional musical genres such as rock or pop. In this masterclass, Hannes Bieger will spotlight all things dynamics within the context of electronic music: Explaining recording history, strategies, concepts, and specific use cases around keywords and topics like gain staging, sidechaining, transients, parallel compression, and limiting. He will show examples of his current productions, showcasing how to reach sonic goals with vintage compressor legends (or their plug-in counterparts) and the most modern dynamic processors. The masterclass will also focus on related techniques such as channel automation, dynamic EQ, or saturation and how they can complement or even replace compressors and limiters in contemporary electronic music.
